Aloha Visit to ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership

Team Marriott ascended upon the offices of ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership. ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership held their 2003 annual meeting in Hawaii and the team expressed their wishes to have them come back in 2013. Their annual meeting represents thousands of room nights to Hawaii.

Fox 5's Tony Perkins Learns to Hula!

It was a chilly 26 degrees this morning in Washington, D.C, and here we are in the Fox 5 Morning News studio with Meteorologist Tony Perkins who interviewed Camile Velasco, Marriott's Spirit of Aloha Tour Ambassador of Aloha and American Idol Season Three Finalist, and City of Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann. Together, they chatted about Hawaii as a value destination and that there's no better time to come to the islands than right now!

An Aloha Bowl-a-thon!

Tuesday night the Washington, DC Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) held their annual Bowl-A-Thon charity event in Bethesda. There were more than 300 customers and suppliers at the largest networking event of the year for the Chapter.

Hawaii Ties with Vai Sikahema at WCAU-TV

Vai Sikahema is the sports reporter at Philadelphia's WCAU-TV and when he invited us to stop by the station, he did a great feature segment on Polynesian Cultural Center. Vai is from Tonga and his wife Keala used to dance with PCC. And actually, Vai also danced with the group back in the day so he quickly joined in on the fun by putting on a grass hula skirt and showed them he still had the moves. Click here for the segment. Vai also planned to feature the Hawaii story by tying in Maui’s Shane Victorino who’s at Spring training camp in Florida. And in true Hawaiian style, we gave our aloha with a fresh orchid lei greeting.

Aloha to the Big Apple

While we had an extremely busy schedule in New York City, meeting with key media and group clients, organizing photo shoots with the Polynesian Cultural Center troupe in the freezing weather, and bringing aloha to the heart of the Big Apple, the experience was definitely one of the highlights of our 45-day tour. We packed up and got back on the road after an amazing time, and are heading to Philadelphia for our next stop.

We Want to Be a Part of It, New York, New York!

We arrived at Rockefeller Center this morning at about 7:30 and parked in our usual prime spot, ready and excited to go to the Weekend TODAY show.
