We arrived in Washington, DC, our last city on this 45-day Spirit of Aloha tour. Our media appearance today began at 8:45 a.m. EST at CBS affiliate WUSA.
WUSA's Business Reporter Jessica Doyle met with Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann and Marriott International Vice President of North Asia, Hawaii and South Pacific Ed Hubennette prior to the in-studio interview to chat about the tour and Hawaii tourism.
During the 4-minute interview, Mayor Hannemann and Ed promoted Hawaii as a great vacation destination. Mayor Hannemann emphasized that Marriott is an example of a private sector taking the lead to promote out visitor industry in Hawaii. Ed explained what the Spirit of Aloha Tour mission was all about and that so far Marriott Resorts Hawaii has generated more than 40% bookings as a result of the tour.
