In the islands, we are one big ‘ohana (family) and helping one another is the core of our culture and lifestyle. In partnership with the Hawaii Foodbank, whose mission is to “ensure that no one in our ‘ohana goes hungry,” our associates in all departments -- from housekeeping to front office, loss prevention and bell desk -- raised more than $8,000 and collected 1,939 pounds of food for the Foodbank’s Annual Food Drive. Now celebrating the event’s 20th year, this is the Hawaii Foodbank’s largest annual fundraiser.
Here we are on a recent Saturday, presenting a check for $8,174.54 and food items, including rice, canned goods and other dry items.
