In honor of @MarriottHawaii’s “Tweet Yourself to Hawaii” sweepstakes, we have named a cocktail after the contest called the “TWEETini.”
At an early age, the simple and subtle forms and shapes that occur in Nature profoundly impacted me. My paintings have grown from these influences and from the continual exploration of how natural shapes relate to basic two-dimensional design theories. The compositions and images I create are distinctly connected to and influenced by the sea and the people that it breathes life into.
We held our first official @MarriottHawaii “tweetup” (meet-up for Twitterers) last night at @MarriottWaikiki (Waikiki Beach Marriott) to celebrate the launch of our “Tweet Yourself to Hawaii” sweepstakes.
A crowd of approximate 75 people, including 36 of Hawaii’s best Twitterers, joined us for the pau hana (after work) event, held at the Moana Terrace overlooking Waikiki Beach.
This summer Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa hosted 13 student interns from Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center (QLCC). The students, from local high schools on the island of Oahu, committed to the six-week internship program "Na Pua ‘O Lili‘uokalani Ma Hamohamo".
The island of Maui is a favorite vacation spot for many, even receiving top honors by Conde Nast Traveler as the “Best Pacific Island” in its 2008 Reader’s Choice Awards. Perhaps the biggest Maui fan is Ms. Betty Biltgen of Sun City, AZ. Every year for the past 40 years, Betty has visited our island, spending the past 30 years as a guest at our Maui hotel, and continues to return twice a year for five to six weeks at a time.
