Giving Thanks in Paradise

As the Thanksgiving holiday nears, we take time to reflect on all that we are grateful for. Whether it's our loved ones who remind us how special we are each day, the beautiful island scenery and aloha spirit here in Hawaii, or catching up and spending time with friends and family members, we have many things to be thankful for. Here are some things that our associates are thankful for this year.

Tweeting Their Way to Maui

Carol and her daughter Joanna Smith of Aurora, Colorado were two of the lucky winners of Marriott's Tweet Yourself to Hawaii sweepstakes, and enjoyed five nights and six days on Maui! Here are some of their trip highlights.

Carol and Joanna went on the Pride of Maui's Molokini Snorkel Cruise where they spotted many island fish and turtles at Molokini Crater and Turtle Town.

Cheering on World’s Best Athletes in Ford Ironman Championship

For the past six years, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa associates have participated in the Ford Ironman World Championship. On October 9th, volunteers comprised of hotel associates and guests hosted an aid station on Queen Kaahumanu Highway near the resort for a portion of the biking leg of the triathlon. Each year 1,800 triathletes are invited to compete in 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking and a 26.2 mile marathon run along the sunny Kohala and Kona coast of the Big Island.

A Halloween Treat at Waikiki Community Center

On Friday, October 30th, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa associates got in the spirit of Halloween and passed out treats to Waikiki Community Center students. There were about 70 keiki (children) in costumes including a fairy princess, Minnie Mouse, Superman and Dracula!
