Tweeting Their Way to Maui

Sharon, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

Carol and her daughter Joanna Smith of Aurora, Colorado were two of the lucky winners of Marriott's Tweet Yourself to Hawaii sweepstakes, and enjoyed five nights and six days on Maui! Here are some of their trip highlights.

Carol and Joanna went on the Pride of Maui's Molokini Snorkel Cruise where they spotted many island fish and turtles at Molokini Crater and Turtle Town.

They went to the Honua'ula Luau and learned about the history and culture of Hawaii as presented by the hula dancers, actors and musicians.

They experienced "The Incredible Journey" Trip to Hana with Valley Isle Excursions and enjoyed seeing gorgeous waterfalls, fruit and flowers on their tour. Here's Joanna next to a colorful rubber tree.

Joanna played in the waves at a black sand beach near the Road to Hana.

They enjoyed refreshing Blue Hawaii and Mai Tai cocktails and pupus at sunset in a private over-the-water cabana at the resort's Maluhia Serenity Pool.

Another highlight was watching the Maui Community Band perform. They enjoyed the piccolo player the best with her solo in "Stars and Stripes Forever." Carol and Joanna had a wonderful time on Maui and describe it as the "best island paradise vacation they ever had!"

Waikiki Beach Resort: One of the Best Hawaii Luxury Hotels

When it comes to Hawaii luxury hotels, the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa ranks as one of the finest. Its history goes back to the days Hawaii kings and queens who use the area for rest and rejuvenation. Nothing has changed much as the resort continues to cater to those with exquisite tastes. The resort is close to the excitement of Waikiki, but hidden away as well so you can truly get away to enjoy the luxury in your own private paradise. After a private nap by your own pool, take a casual walk to the Kapiolani Park, Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium for a family get away.
