Sending Holiday Aloha to Soldiers Abroad

Kiyo, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

On November 20th, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa associates assembled 100 care packages filled with goodies donated by Maui residents and hotel associates. The holiday packages were mailed to military men and women serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, including 51 soldiers from Hawaii. The soldiers are registered with www.anysoldier.com. Pictured here are resort associates Nunia Mataele, Karen Bulusan, Gerald Okamoto and Larry Stephens.

Here is Bill Countryman (in black aloha shirt) and fellow associates packing the most donated item – vienna sausage! There were boxes of vienna sausage stacked everywhere!

The generous donations also included saimin, snack bars, popcorn, CDs, tuna, spam, and pineapple jerky.

Other items were Beanie Babies and stuffed animals for soldiers to give to the children.

We also provided beautiful Hawaiian print Christmas stockings to add aloha cheer!
