Scott Ashworth, PGA director of golf at the world-class Kauai Lagoons, was prestigiously named Marriott's 2009 Golf Professional of the Year! He graciously accepted the award on behalf of his team saying, "This is not an individual award for me. This goes to everyone here." He thanked the golf grounds crew and the golf shop team and added, "the amount we've had to adapt and change and to see everyone do it and be genuinely nice to each other is pretty cool. I'm so proud of this team for sticking together in these really tough times."

On Tuesday, April 13th, Marriott Resorts Hawaii was recognized by the American Marketing Association (AMA) Hawaii Chapter as the 33rd Marketer of the Year. Awarded at its annual awards luncheon held at the Hawaii Convention Center, Marriott Resorts Hawaii was singled out for its succssful innovative marketing efforts in 2009 with the Spirit of Aloha Tour in the U.S. and Japan and the "Tweet Yourself to Hawaii" social media campaign.

Shannon and Brian Huey just celebrated their one-year anniversary after getting married at Wailea Beach Marriott in April 2009 and we are very excited for the happy couple!
More than a hundred keiki celebrated Easter with us at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on Easter Sunday. The morning festivities began in the Hokulani Ballroom with fun crafts supplied by our friends at Kama‘aina Kids. The keiki could decorate Easter masks and make their own bags.
