Moms Are More Than Special at Marriott Resorts Hawaii

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we would like to share with you a few heartwarming stories of our amazing moms from their children who know them best! Today we’re featuring the Agonoys from Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and the Furtados from Kauai Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach.

Agonoy

Mother Michelle Agonoy, Housekeeping Manager, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

Daughter Kassie Agonoy, 10 years old

I feel my mother is a special mom because she treats me like a princess. Every morning I wake up my mom always says, “Good morning Princess.” We then get ready for our day. We race to the bathroom and fight for the mirror, asking each other, “Does this look good, does this match?”

When my mom gets home from work and after dinner we race to the living room looking for the TV remote control because whoever finds the remote first is the one who gets to pick what we watch on TV. I know sometimes she lets me win because my mom is very fast.

My mom is a Housekeeping Manager at Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. She works very hard every day. Sometimes she is not able to make it to my school when we celebrate special events but last year I was so happy when I saw my mom walking into my class to celebrate Mother’s Day. I gave her my Mother’s Day gift. It was a poem that I wrote by myself. She loved it and it made me happy to see my mom so happy.

This year's Mother’s Day is going to be even more special. My mom and I will be performing for her work place. We are trying to raise money to support the upcoming Vistor Industry Charity Walk. We will be dancing Tahitian together. We will be all dressed up in our matching costumes. I bet you we will be fighting over the mirror again!

Furtado

Mother Patty Furtado, Executive Assistant to the General Manager, Kauai Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach

Daughter Moani Furtado, Concierge Manager, Kauai Marriott Resort

My mom is such a supportive parent and is always there for me. We do a lot together – on a usual day, we ride to work, then go to the gym to work out. After that we shop for dinner, go to our separate homes, and then the phone rings! Guess who it is? My momma… touching bases for tomorrow and wishing me a goodnight!

This Mother’s Day we’ll go to church in the morning and enjoy a continental breakfast. I’ll also honor mom with a hula.

Happy Mother’s Day mom! I love you!

Hawaii Luxury Hotels Allows One To Visit The World’s Largest Single Pointed Quartz Crystal

There are plenty of off the beaten path places to visit when you stay with Marriot’s Hawaii luxury hotels. One example being on the Island of Kauai where you can visit the Hindu Monastery, Kauai Aadheenam. Aside from the marvelous location and tropical landscaping, there is the world’s largest single-pointed quartz crystal, estimated to be 50 million years old, weighs 700 pounds and stands over three feet tall. At our Hawaii luxury hotels, it’s not just the accommodations that will pamper you, our history and sites-to-see may boggle your mind. The world’s largest crystal is in Kadavul temple which can be viewed on limited tours available a few times per month.

Beautiful mother and daughter

Beautiful mother and daughter picture! I was actually present at this special event. Michelle, Kassie and their fellow tahitian members performed wonderfully together. I can't wait to see what they have planned for next year!
