New Fia Fia Show Debuts at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa!

Brian, JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa

It was a night of ‘ono (delicious) Hawaiian food, lively entertainment and great company on Thursday at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina, where we unveiled the new Fia Fia Show. Held oceanfront at the resort's Lagoon Lawn with a dazzling sunset as the backdrop, Chief Sielu Avea and the Fia Fia performers brought Polynesian culture, dance and music to guests and kama‘aina (locals) alike.

Attendees were greeted with shell lei and took pictures with the performers. They participated in activities such as Coconut Frond Weaving and Knife Twirling.

Chief Sielu and the men unearthed the roasted pig from the imu, or underground oven, ready to be eaten at dinner.

A sumptuous dinner buffet was prepared by JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa Executive Chef Scott Higa. The night's menu included Imu Roasted Kalua Pig, Hulihuli Chicken, Pulehu Steak, Fresh Mahimahi with Tomato Ogo Relish, Roasted Molokai Sweet Potato with Spiced Macadamia Nuts, Pipikaula and Pineapple Fried Rice, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Ahi Poke, Poi, and more!

The children also enjoyed tasty food including Kalua Pig Cheese Quesadillas and Coconut Chicken Tenders.

There were exciting dance performances featuring the diverse culture and music of Tahiti, Fiji, Hawaii and Aotearoa. The performers and musicians were outfitted with vibrant colors, traditional wear and lei made of flowers and foliage picked fresh for the occasion. An interactive experience, guests were also brought on-stage to learn a few dance moves! And after much anticipation, it was time for Samoan fire knife dancing! Here's just a little peek!

We are very excited to now offer the Fia Fia Show on-site, to be held every Thursday beginning on August 19th! For more information or reservations, please call JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at (808) 679-3209. We hope to see you soon!
