It's a new celebration of the island of Maui here at the oceanfront Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, where the "Te Au Moana" luau show now entertains guests and kama'aina alike. With its talented musicians and performers, the renowned Tihati Productions offers a spectacular display of Polynesian entertainment and cultural activities at the resort's luau grounds.

With the picturesque Pacific Ocean and Molokini island as the backdrop, it is only fitting that "Te Au Moana" tells the story of the ocean's tide. The hour-long show is told in three acts, from the legend of Maui to featured dances from Tahiti, Tonga and the Cook Island, and ending with a celebration of contemporary song and hula including ukulele players and the captivating and dangerous fire knife dancers of Samoa.

A sumptuous dinner spread is unveiled after the unearthing of the imu, or underground oven, used to steam a whole pig for the traditional luau dish of kalua pork. The steamed kalua pig is freshly served in the buffet that evening, along with teriyaki steak, shoyu (soy sauce) chicken, sauteed fresh mahi mahi fish with lemon butter, Molokai sweet potato, lomi lomi salad and poi. For dessert, guests will enjoy coconut haupia and more!

Guests can also get into the action with interactive Polynesian crafts such as lei making, coconut husking, hula dancing and kapa (bark cloth) printing.
