Helping Hawaii Foodbank Collect One Million Meals!

Fuji, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa associates raised $8,150 and donated 3,062 pounds of food to the 22nd Annual Food Drive, a benefit for the Hawaii Foodbank, on April 16, 2011. They successfully exceeded the resort’s monetary goal by 14 percent and food donation goal by 12 percent.

Popular donated items included rice, bottled water and canned goods. With the resort’s assistance, Hawaii Foodbank reached is goal of collecting one million meals. Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa General Manager Mike Nisky and resort associates dedicated their time and effort as part of Marriott's Spirit to Serve.

Waikiki Beach Marriott Director of Market Strategy Fuji Murakami championed the resort’s efforts, as well as the Hospitality Coalition which also surpassed last year’s fundraising initiatives by raising more than $70,000 and 40,000 pounds of food.
