Exceeding A Goal Plus Placing First in a Food Contest for Charity!

Kelly, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

The associates at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa contributed in raising funds for the Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association’s statewide 33rd Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk by conducting dessert bento and baked goods sales, as well as a silent auction. This year the hotel set their goal to raise $7,000 but surpassed it by raising more than $8,300!

The resort also hosted a food station at the three-mile Big Island Charity Walk on Saturday, May 14th and entered the event’s food contest, which they proudly took first place in. Sous Chef Jayson Kanekoa served two different types of poke with a mini cone-filled sushi. The poke was placed on the rice and “dressed to your liking” with tobiko, green onions and more! Chef also served a deep-fried spam musubi with green onion infused oil and unagi sauce.

Overall, the Big Island Charity Walk raised more than $161,000 for the island’s non-profit organizations!
