The Annual Maui Hotel & Lodging Association Charity Walk sets a new record of raising $475,101.00 for a variety of Maui Charities. Bill Countryman, Cluster General Manager for the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, was the chairman this year for the big event. Wailea Marriott raised in excess of $14,000 for one hotel alone.
All departments of the resort were involved in raising money for many months preceding the actual 3 mile walk. Each department held their own fund raisers and had items for sale such as local lunches, fruits and vegetables, pizza, candy, breakfast, cakes, pies, cookies, a silent auction and much more. "The generosity of our associates was overwhelming, I am so very proud of everyone for their involvement and accomplishments," stated Bill Countryman.
