Toph and Kris' Chef Shuttle Adventure!

Oahu's Toph and Kris Lake had such a wonderful time on our Chef Shuttle with Chef Jayson Kanekoa that we just had to share their story with you!

Toph had recently returned to Hawaii after being stationed in the Middle East for two months. He and his wife Kris stayed at Waikoloa Beach Marriott in December 2010, and decided to return for a special weekend to experience the Chef Shuttle.

Marriott Hawaii Hungry to Be a Part of the World's Largest Thai Dinner

Tom Yam Kung. Som Tam. Kung Pad Tua. Sankhaya. These were the makings of a sumptuous four-course Thai menu by Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Executive Chef Miles Togikawa on October 20th for Marriott International's "World's Largest Thai Dinner party," part of Global Customer Appreciation Week. Waikiki Beach Marriott and Kauai Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach joined more than 100 Marriott hotels worldwide in hopes of setting a Guinness World Record in the silver service dinner (multiple venues) category. The Hawaii resorts were excited to promote Thailand as a major travel destination. Chef Jayson Kanekoa Wins "The Great Waikoloa Poke Contest"!

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Sous Chef Jayson Kanekoa was named the winner of "The Great Waikoloa Poke Contest" held on September 4th on the Big Island of Hawaii! He masterfully prepared six pounds of poke (pronounced po-kay), fresh Hawaiian fish cut into cubes mixed with tasty seasonings and local ingredients, competing amongst the island's best hotel and restaurant chefs. He was declared the overall winner after taking first place in five of six categories.

It's not every day that Kauai cuisine is featured in the Evergreen State, but on Friday October 23rd, Seattle foodies enjoyed Ti Leaf Wrapped Opah (moonfish) with Chinese Black Bean Sauce and Wok Stir Fried Vegetables at 2100 Bistro & Bar at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront. It's all part of Marriott Resorts Hawaii's Aloha Friday celebrations where Chef Chris Frothingham presents an island-inspired entree each Friday in October.

Hawaii cuisine continues to be the talk of the foodie crowd in Seattle where a Marriott Resorts Hawaii island-inspired entree is featured each Aloha Friday during the month of October by Chef Chris Frothingham of 2100 Bistro & Bar at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront. Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa's entree, Seared Halibut with Soy Bean and Heirloom Tomato Salad and Tomato Lime Vinaigrette, was the featured dish on Friday, October 16th.

A Sumptuous Taste of the Big Island in Seattle

On Friday, October 9th, we kicked off an Aloha Friday celebration at Seattle Marriott Waterfront’s 2100 Bistro & Bar where Chef Chris Frothingham featured an island-inspired entrée from Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. Highlighting sumptuous cuisine from the Big Island of Hawaii, the Seared Kona Kampachi with Golden Pineapple Salsa, Yuzu Butter Sauce, Waipio Fern, Okinawan Sweet Potatoes and Hon Shimeji Mushrooms was a crowd pleaser!

Wine and Dine Under the Stars in Ko Olina

It was a night of fabulous dining, great entertainment, and company at the 10th anniversary of Taste at Kapolei. Held in Ko Olina on September 12, the event showcased Kapolei’s best with proceeds benefiting the Rotary Club of Kapolei and helping to provide scholarships to Leeward Oahu students.
