JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina teamed up with West Oahu Women (WOW) Social & Business Network and Pacific Edge Magazine for the grand re-opening of the 35,000-square-foot Ihilani Spa, which just completed a grand transformation. On March 9th, WOW and Pacific Edge guests enjoyed an evening of pupus, cocktails, and spa treatments.
In celebrating the revitalization of the Ihilani Spa, we are proud to announce a new charitable program called "Helping and Healing" to benefit a Native Hawaiian organization on Oahu's Leeward Coast. From January 14 to February 14, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds from spa treatments conducted on Mondays and Fridays to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center's (WCCHC) Dr. Agnes Kalaniho‘okaha Cope Native Hawaiian Traditional Healing Center.
Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa associates successfully completed a friendly weight loss competition and battled the bulge in a fun and healthy way! During the 12-week "Battle of the Bulge" program, 55 participating associates lost a total combined weight of 516.7 lbs.! Here is first place winner Glenn Mitsuda from the Bell Department who lost 24.1% body fat, second place winner Darlene Keeno in Accounting who lost 15.12% body fat, and third place winner Ofelia Astrero from Housekeeping who lost 14.96% body fat!
“Election” season got really “heated” at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa last week with three great “candidates” seeking the votes of their colleagues to win the top prize. JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina held eight weddings on Sunday, nearly double their daily average, on 10/10/10. KHON-TV's Brianne Randall visited the resort and interviewed newly wed Robert and Lisa Mauracher who reside in Canada, and Raymond Donato, the resort's catering sales manager. Faces were aglow at Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, where the United States Youth Swim Team stayed during the Junior Pan Pacific Championships held from August 26-30 at the Kihei Aquatic Center. The open-water 10K was held right next to the resort and it was definitely a sight to see! Ranging from 14 to 18 years of age, Team USA won 46 medals, beating out all the other teams. The competition was fierce, featuring the top national Youth Teams including Canada, Australia and Japan.
To help jump start a healthier lifestyle for all our associates, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa introduced the "Battle of the Bulge" friendly weight loss competition. The 12-week program began with a kick-off meeting including health and wellness tips by Queen's Medical Center Manager of Health and Wellness Morgan Boyle on August 17th, and the first official weigh-in held the following day. The first wellness activity was called, "Hike with Mike," where General Manager Mike Nisky took the associates and his sons Leland and Dylan on a scenic Diamond Head hike.
After 12 weeks of grueling cardiovascular and weight training workouts, nutrition management, as well as true determination and discipline in making healthy choices, JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa associates Zedrik Dana and Roberta Mondirin were named the "Biggest Losers" in the resort's friendly weight-loss competition!
