The island of Maui is a favorite vacation spot for many, even receiving top honors by Conde Nast Traveler as the “Best Pacific Island” in its 2008 Reader’s Choice Awards. Perhaps the biggest Maui fan is Ms. Betty Biltgen of Sun City, AZ. Every year for the past 40 years, Betty has visited our island, spending the past 30 years as a guest at our Maui hotel, and continues to return twice a year for five to six weeks at a time.
All of Hawaii is abuzz by the news of our islands being selected as Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome's next adventure! We enjoyed the friendly competition between our state and Cancun and Jamaica, and it was exciting to see how Hawaii people united to bring the Roaming Gnome here!
We all know him as “Buster.” His signature “ALOOOOOOOHA!” to guests and associates throughout the day, mega-watt smile and innate compassion for others resonate throughout our resort. He’s Edmund Civerolo, bell desk, and we’re so proud of his recent recognition as Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA).
