Sights to See

Diamond Head and the Duke.

Oahu attractionsOahu boasts a plethora of sights to see and things to do. When you stay in Waikiki you’re close to many of the landmark attractions most visitors come to see, including a few more you may not know about. We suggest you start on Kalakaua Avenue at Waikiki Beach.

  • Waikiki Beach – Swim, boogie board, learn to surf – you can do it!
  • Duke Kahanamoku Statue – Hawaii’s surfing legend and Hollywood’s original Tarzan – a great photo opportunity.
  • Honolulu Zoo – Within easy walking distance. You’ll know you’re close when you can hear the animal orchestra.
  • Kapiolani Park – Walk to it, then walk around it – beautiful.
  • Waikiki Aquarium – Oceanside, across from Kapiolani Park.
  • Waikiki Beachwalk – Chic boutiques, fabulous restaurants – window shop, people-watch.
  • Diamond Head Crater and Lookout – Drive to it, then walk to the lookout. Bring water, a flashlight (there’s a tunnel) and walking shoes.
  • Ala Moana Shopping Center – The largest shopping center in the Pacific. Hop aboard the open air Waikiki Shuttle. The drivers love to talk.

Attractions on the Western shore.

Over on the sun-kissed western shore of Oahu you’ll appreciate its stunning beauty and tranquility. Don’t miss the four pristine ocean lagoons at the Ko Olina Resort & Marina – breathtaking and serene. If you have the time and the inclination, these sights and attractions are within easy driving distance from your Oahu resort:

  • Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor – A haunting memorial to the lives lost during the 1942 attack on Pearl Harbor. Visited by thousands annually.
  • Aloha Stadium Swap Meet – Kitch to “bling bling.” Go ahead and haggle – it’s expected
  • Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park, Kapolei – The Big Kahuna and other wild rides. What can we say? It’s a blast!
  • Waikele Shopping Center – Premium outlet stores and local grinds (food) – the best place to get great deals
