Prestigious Travel Award Shines Bright Over Luxurious Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

Newly renovated resort honored with 2009 AAA Four Diamond Award

 

WAILEA, MAUI, Hawaii – June 25, 2008 – The newly transformed Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, located in the luxury Wailea Resort destination, is the proud recipient of the 2009 AAA Four Diamond Award - Lodging Category.

"The AAA Diamond juding criteria are inspections that include at least one unannounced inspection each year. Inspectors review and rate exterior, grounds and public areas, room décor, ambiance and amenities, guest room, bathrooms, housekeeping and maintenance, management and staff and guest services. Once the inspection process is complete, properties that meet all requirements receive a rating of one to five Diamonds."

Maui Hotel Wins Awards
The coolest addition to the $60 million transformation at Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is the new Maluhia Serenity Pool. It features health-promoting saline filtered water with priceless sunset and ocean views. To top it off, Maluhia Serenity Pool creates that serene and sensual ambiance with the offering of six over-the-water cabanas for spa treatments, making it one of a kind amid the luxurious amenities of the Wailea Resort destination.

With the addition of Maluhia Serenity Pool, Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is now home to five outdoor swimming pools. While Maluhia Serenity Pool is reserved for resort guests 18 years of age and over, there are more outdoor pools from which guests can choose to enjoy:

  • Makani Pools & Hot Tubs: Named after the trade winds and cool breeze that flows through the area, the two Makani pools are the perfect place for fun and sun.
  • Wailele Pools & Slides: Hawaiian for waterfall, this pool area is equipped with three slides and a sandy beach pool for keiki and family to enjoy.

Maui Luxury Hotel Experience
Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, which offers the best oceanfront location within the luxurious Wailea Resort destination, also opened recently the highly anticipated Mala Wailea Restaurant by chef/owner Mark Ellman, one of the original creators of the popular Hawaii Regional Cuisine.

Highlights of other new resort hotel features are:
