Celebrate The Best Of The Big Island Of Hawaii With Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa's Celebration Series

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii August 7, 2008 – If there ever were a place where one could fully engage in an authentic Hawaiian experience, it’s the majestic Big Island of Hawaii. With its fiery lava flows, snow-capped mountains, bountiful Pacific Ocean and the best stargazing in the galaxy, the island’s myths and legends continue to captivate and enthrall visitors. For Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, it has been the island’s spiritual mana, or strength, that has inspired the new "Celebration Series" of special vacation offerings that are unique to Hawaii and given to all guests who stay at the resort during the activity dates. Each activity is specially designed to embrace the three natural elements that the Big Island has to offer in such unique ways – the sea, land and sky.

The three activities – Celebration of the Sea, Celebration of the Land and Celebration of the Sky – are offered to all guests who stay five (5) consecutive nights or more at the newly renovated Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on the luxurious Kohala Coast. Guests will enjoy fresh, contemporary guestrooms, two swimming pools including a new infinity pool, pampering at the renowned Mandara Spa and easy access to ocean activities fronting the resort. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more of the deep sense of a historical Hawaiian place set amid lush, tropical splendor.

Celebration of the Sea Activity

  • Available for stays from December 15, 2008 to April 15, 2009

Every November to mid-April, the North Pacific Humpback whales arrive in the Hawaiian Islands to bear their young and breed before returning to colder climates up north.

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa’s "Celebration of the Sea" activity is designed to coincide with the annual winter whale migration off the Kohala Coast. Hotel guests, who stay five (5) nights or more, will receive one two-hour complimentary whale watching cruise voucher and the opportunity to see these magnificent mammals up close and personal and learn more about these giants of the sea from professional marine naturalists from Ocean Sports!

Celebration of the Land Activity

  • Available for stays from April 15 to August 15, 2009

Madame Pele continues her sizzling show as lava flows from Kilauea Volcano, creating new land and showcasing the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and how they were formed.

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa’s "Celebration of the Land" activity will give hotel guests who stay five (5) nights or more the opportunity to visit the dazzling display with one complimentary voucher to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park offering a wealth of live volcano activity, rainforest, hiking trails and spectacular scenery, along with one complimentary Hawaii Forest & Trail land adventure!

Celebration of the Sky Activity

  • Available from August 15 to December 16, 2009

Away from the bright lights of a big city, the Big Island is perfectly poised for clear admiration of the constellations. In ancient times, Polynesian voyagers were drawn to this island by a bright star. Today, astronomers and other scientific types are drawn to the Big Island’s snow-capped mountains, renowned for the world’s best viewing of the universe.

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa’s "Celebration of the Sky" activity will give hotel guests who stay five (5) nights or more an opportunity to see stars, literally. They’ll learn firsthand from a local expert about the heavenly bodies and their significance in the Hawaiian culture.

Terms and conditions apply. Resort fee of $20 plus tax per room per day will be applied. Offer cannot be combined with any other promotion.
