An Eco-Escape Adventure Awaits At Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club

LIHUE, KAUA'I, Hawaii September 25, 2008 – Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club (www.kauaimarriott.com) is now offering the Kaua'i Eco-Adventure Package for guests to experience all of Kaua'i's outdoor beauty from the resort's central location on the Garden Isle. The 356-room resort is situated on Kalapaki Beach in Lihu'e, which was recently recognized on National Geographic Adventure’s 2008 list of “Top 50 Next Great Adventure Towns.”

“Many of our visitors simply want to spend their vacations getting their feet wet and hands dirty, exploring Kaua'i's natural beauty hands-on and taking adventure to the next level,” said Jay Heidenreich, director of sales and marketing of Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club. “Our new Kaua'i Eco-Adventure Package provides just that with a choice from five unforgettable experiences for the novice or seasoned eco-traveler.”

Beginning at $455 per night plus tax, the Kaua'i Eco-Adventure Package includes daily breakfast for two at the resort's signature Kukui's Poolside Restaurant & Bar. Guests can choose two of the five following adventures (complimentary for two people) during their minimum four-night stay:

  • Napali Snorkel Adventure – Hop aboard the award-winning Captain Andy's catamaran with five hours of luxury sailing along the dramatic Napali Coast, and anchor at a tropical reef to snorkel and explore an underwater ecosystem.
  • Zipline Adventure Tour – Join Kaua'i Backcountry Adventures in a soaring experience over a pristine rain forest, with seven ziplines across the mountainside. To top it off, guests can take a dip in the natural swimming pool and enjoy a picnic lunch in a bamboo grove. “There is nothing to compare with the excitement and spectacular scenery of our zipline tours in the lush heart of Kaua'i,” said Chris Ryer, general manager of Kaua'i Backcountry Adventures.
  • ATV Ranch and Mountain Tour – With Kipu Ranch Adventures, guests will tour famous Hollywood movie locations and journey through lush terrain. The three-hour experience takes guests along the Hule'ia river to the Indiana Jones rope swing.
  • Waterfall Picnic Horseback Ride – The picturesque North Shore of Kaua'i and Princeville Ranch is the perfect setting for a horseback riding adventure, complete with a short 15-minute hike through a tropical rainforest to an 80-foot waterfall, a picnic and a refreshing swim in the waterfall pool. “Our tours are truly one-of-a-kind, featuring spectacular scenery, high quality guides and horses, on a historic working cattle ranch,” said Stables Manager Lorri Makaneole. “Each is highlighted by panoramic vistas of mountains and the Pacific Ocean, as well as a lush tropical valley.”
  • Mountain Tubing Adventure – With exclusive access to more than 17,000 acres, Kaua‘i Backcountry Adventures also invites you to float on tubes down open canals and five tunnels hand-dug in 1871, through the historic irrigation system of the former Lihu'e Plantation, which once irrigated vast sugar crops. It's the only adventure of its kind in Hawaii. This tour includes lunch and a swim, and is fun for the whole family, ages five and up.

In addition to the complimentary activities included in the Kaua'i Eco-Adventure Package, the family friendly Kalapaki Beach fronting Kaua'i Marriott Resort & Beach Club is perfect for all types of ocean activities. It is here where Kaua'i Beach Boys reside, offering water sports to guests and kama'aina alike, including surf lessons, stand up paddling, snorkeling, kayaking, sailing and outrigger canoe paddling.

Restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Minimum four-night stay required. Valid through December 22, 2008. Offer cannot be combined with any other promotions.
