A SPIRIT TO SERVE THE KAPI’OLANI CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK Marriott Hawaiian Islands Hotels and Resorts raises more than $68,000 in 2006
HONOLULU, Hawaii – February 27, 2007 –There’s a time to work, a time to play, and now, a time to serve.
Ed Hubennette, vice president for Marriott International – Japan, Hawaii and South Pacific,
presented a check for $68,017 on behalf of Marriott Hawaiian Islands Hotels and Resorts to the
Kapi’olani Children’s Miracle Network on Friday, June 22nd.
It’s all part of Marriott International’s “Spirit to Serve our Communities” program, a
legacy of more than 75 years of supporting the communities where it does business. Its focus in
Hawaii is concentrated in four main areas – family services, community partnerships, career
opportunities and associate involvement.
This is the culmination of a year’s worth of fundraising in 2006 for the Kapi’olani
Children’s Miracle Network by dedicated and hardworking Marriott associates representing the
1,310-room Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and 356-room JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa
on Oahu; the newly rejuvenated 556-room Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on the Big
Island of Hawaii; the 356-room Kaua’i Marriott Resort & Beach Club on Kauai; and the recently
renovated 546-room Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and 345-room Renaissance Wailea
Beach Resort both on Maui.
In 1983, Marriott International, Inc. became the first corporate sponsor of the Children’s
Miracle Network. To date, Marriott International has contributed nearly $50 million to help
children needing hospitalization in our local communities
