WAILEA, Maui, Hawaii – July 20, 2007 – Sharon Klaschka has
been appointed
director of sales and marketing for the newly renovated 546-room
Wailea
Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Maui.
"Sharon brings to our team a wealth of experience and contacts from 25
years
in the business and we are very pleased to have her," said John

general manager. "Her many years of representing properties at
Wailea give
her valuable insights into our products and markets."
Klaschka will be responsible for implementing an aggressive sales and
marketing business plan and directing the resort's sales,
marketing,
advertising and public relations initiatives.
Prior to joining Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Klaschka served
for a
year as director of sales for the Kahala Hotel and Resort on Oahu.
Previously, she had been director of leisure sales for the Fairmont
Kea Lani
at Wailea for 13 years. She began her hospitality career by working at
the
front desk of the Wailea Beach Marriott, back when it was known as the
Intercontinental in the early 1980s.
Klaschka studied public speaking at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
She
is a graduate of Maryknoll High School in Honolulu.
