7 Reasons to Love the Sheraton Maui
Contributed by Kristen Kellogg, Border Free Travels.
After spending ten days on property, I realized the many benefits to booking a stay at the Sheraton.
Excellent for booking group adventures, one off events, and even family stays, here are seven things I loved about my experience.
1. EASY ACCESS
From the front of the hotel, you can catch a complimentary shuttle bus to and from downtown Lahaina.
If you’ve rented a car, the Sheraton Maui is conventionally located just a seven minute drive from town.
There is so much to do when strolling the streets of Lahaina including shopping, coffee culture, yummy places to enjoy an ice-cream with a view, and even to just relax and hang out among the big trees at Banyan Park Court.
Lahaina is also home to a lovely surf break for learning to surf called Break Wall where the girls had their lessons each morning with Goofy Foot Surf School.
2. TASTE TOGETHER
With three spacious restaurants, if you’re feeling a little drained from long days in Maui sun or from all of your activities splashing around, there’s no need to even leave the property for a meal.
We enjoyed breakfast together each morning in the Black Rock Kitchen.
The buffet spread had everything you could imagine with smoked salmon and capers and the make your own waffle station, two of my favorites.
We also dined as a large group the opening night of the retreat as they transformed Black Rock Kitchen with tiki torches and providing an entirely different atmosphere and vibe.
3. SPACE TO GATHER
Choosing a larger resort can often be a challenge when it comes to finding personal space among many rooms.
This was not the case at the Sheraton Maui. We stayed in the upper Moana Hale just above Black Rock and it feels like a private haven out on the lawn from our walk out room.
I also loved practicing yoga each evening during sunset as Swell Women had access to The Moana Lounge overlooking the sea.
4. RISE EARLY
The perfect opportunity to make the most of each vacation day, you finally have an excuse to wake up for first light.
Sunrise on property was absolutely breathtaking as the morning dew graced the grass and glistened as the sun peeked its way through the palms.
Each and every morning felt a little magical.
5. FAMILY FRIENDLY
For those with families, it’s easy to find games and something for everyone on the property like life size connect four on the lawn.
Sheraton Maui is a place I would bring my family back to: great for all generations.
6. WATER + WILDLIFE
With SUP (stand up paddle) rentals, snorkel gear, or just plain swimming in the pool, there were a number of water activity options keeping us active all day long.
I loved spending time with a few of the girls from the retreat and watching them hop over the edge which you can see in the video above.
Black Rock is truly underwater special place on Maui that you must explore!
7. LOUNGING TIME TOGETHER
Just steps away from the sea, it was easy to hop back and forth between a salty snorkel session and cliff jump back to relaxing by the pool with a drink in hand.
For a taste of Maui, try the Sheraton’s Hawaiian Margarita with a Li Hing Mui rim -dried salted plum – at the Mai Tai Bar.
The Cliff Dive Grill is also another great place to kick back watch the daily cliff dive ceremony.
I can’t wait to return next time I’m on Maui!
