New Charity Bungalow Program at Sheraton Kauai Resort Begins April 1
Sheraton Kauai Resort announced the launch of a new charity program beginning April 1, 2017.
The resort will donate rental proceeds from one of its eight private, poolside bungalows overlooking the resort’s Ocean Pool and beachfront to Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, a member of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®.
The bungalow, which has been renamed the Children’s Miracle Bungalow, is available to be rented by Sheraton Kauai guests and the public in advance for a minimum $150 donation. Suggested donation on same-day use is $150 on a first-come, first-served basis. A fundraising goal of $16,000 has been set for 2017.
The nationally recognized, not-for-profit Kapi‘olani Medical Center is Hawaii’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital.
Widely known as Hawaii’s leader in the care of women, infants and children, it provides intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care transport and high-risk prenatal care.
The hospital is home to the Kapi‘olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raises funds and awareness for its 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.
In addition to the Children’s Miracle Bungalow, Sheraton Kauai Resort is home to the Table 53 charity program at its signature restaurant, RumFire Poipu Beach.
All net proceeds from food and beverage at the designated oceanfront table is donated to a different local charity each month and over $170,000 has been raised.
In April, Table 53 will benefit the annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
“With Table 53, we encourage our guests that the more they dine, the more we donate,” said Chip Bahouth, General Manager of Sheraton Kauai Resort.
“We’re proud to begin our new Children’s Miracle Bungalow charity program to benefit women & children in our community, and look forward to putting the ‘FUN’ in fundraising with our oceanfront bungalow.”
Reservations can be made by dialing the resort’s beach activities desk at 808-742-0302. For more information about Sheraton Kauai Resort, visit www.sheraton-kauai.com.
