PokemonGo Fans: Can You “Catch ‘Em All”?

July 13, 2016

With the recent launch and increasing buzz around the new PokemonGo app, we became curious as to what this new popular trend was all about.

Throughout Waikiki we noticed many guests walking around with their phone held out in front of them, moving from side to side, in deep concentration.

We quickly learned they were catching Pokemon!

Since then we have gone undercover and begun training to become the next Pokemon Master.

To our surprise, we were excited to find numerous Pokemon, Pokestops, and Gyms in or nearby our Starwood resorts in Waikiki!

Here are some of our reported sightings so far:

SPOTTED: An Abra has teleported in front of the Sheraton Waikiki to rest and regain his power strength. Better get here quick! Abra has been observed to teleport to a different location once per hour.

SPOTTED: Exeggcute hanging out in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Can you tell which retail stores it’s near? (*Hint: the shop on the right hand side is known for their luxury watches)

SPOTTED: A Spearow pecking around in the foyer of the Royal Hawaiian hotel. (We’ve also heard there’s a gym steps away!)

SPOTTED: An uncommon sighting of Magnemite floating near the Sheraton Waikiki Infinity Pool? That’ll sure spark some interest among Pokemon trainers.

SPOTTED: Fish out of water! Magikarp to be precise. Recognize this Diamond Head view? We found this guy right off property along our beach pathway.

Have you caught any other Pokemon at our Starwood properties or in Waikiki?
